W.M. Lamb Mustered to Capt. J.C. Jackson's Company, 24 Regiment Tennessee Infantry August 24 to Oct.31 1861 @ Camp Trousdale.

*This company subsequently became Company A, 24th Regiment Tennessee Infantry.

The 24th. Regiment Tennessee Infantry was organized for State Service August 6, 1861. with eleven companies, A to L, and was transferred to the service of the Confederate States August 24, 1861. Company M was added in the early part of 1862. The regiment was re-organized and reduced to ten companies, A to K. by consolidation, May 2, 1862. It was consolidated with the 19th. and 41st. Regiments Tennessee Infantry about January, 1865, and formed a temporary field organization.

About April 9, 1865, the 4th,5th,19th,24th,31st,33d,35th,38th and 41st Regiments Tennessee Infantry were consolidated and formed the 3d Consolidated Regiment Tennessee Infantry which was paroled at Greensboro, N.C., May 1, 1865

William Martin (Kelly) Lamb married Temperance Pope1850.Temperance was born in 1825 the daughter of Charles Pope (born in 1793 in North Carolina) and Elizabeth Smith Pope (born in 1795 in North Carolina).


1: William Martin (Kelly) Lamb served as a PVT. Company A 24th Tennessee Infantry Regiment in the Confederate Army.
